It doesn't have to be getting up at 5 and engaging in sunrise yoga (although that does sound fun! - mmm maybe not the 5 am part, haha) it has to suit your personality - after all the idea is to prepare yourself to have a great day so it needs to feel satisfying.
I know one mum with two young kids who does get up at 5 am - just so she can have 90 minutes all to herself every day - she starts with a nice quiet interruption-free coffee and some crappy tv - then it's an online workout followed by a quiet peaceful breakfast on her own before the house wakes up and the rest of the day starts with barely a moment for herself till bedtime! She tells me that 90 minutes every day not only keeps her sane but also means she enjoys the rest of the day with the kids more.
Since I started Pilates at Home with Anny it's given me the opportunity to bring new classes to my customers that I wouldn't have risked before when I had to pay for studios etc and maybe nobody would have turned up! Most of all it has been HIIT - something I've been interested in and researching for some time - so I took the opportunity to start some classes for my customers - WOW - you guys loved it - so I will be adding quite a lot her on Vivo - here is a great article from Healthline explaining some of the benefits - enjoy!
The sun is shining, you've worked hard and want a treat! Are you watching everybody drinking refreshing cocktails enviously because you don't want to spoil your hard work?
It's OK - Vivo is about balance remember - the 80-20 rule is something I totally believe in - I'm very disciplined with my health, diet, and fitness 80% of the time but the other 20% I like to relax and treat myself sometimes - I don't go mad though, that's why I love great articles like this - thank you Brit + Co!
Enjoy folks and let me know which ones you've tried!!
One of my disciplines is to try not to eat carbs after 6 pm - not always easy of course when I'm often eating my dinner later than that, so I'm always looking for tasty carb replacements - Voila!! Thank You to 'Women's Running' for a great article. Mmm tasty!
Great article from 'For Women First' discussing how weight training is so beneficial as you get older - muscle loss isn't always a visible effect of ageing but if you don't use it - you lose it! I think you will enjoy this article - let me know, Anny x
This is a great article from Verywell Fit on some of the benefits of Pilates - If you haven't tried Pilates yet or think it's too gentle for you and not a 'proper' workout, then you need to try one of my classes! you might have to start off slow as you learn the core principles. but stick with it and I promise you will start to work hard with me and see the benefits!
